Elyse started taking a few steps the day after Katelyn's birthday. She is really wobbly, but she is doing so well. At least she wants to walk now, which is more than she used to!

July and Katelyn's Birthday.
Katelyn has been doing a lot of drawing and coloring this month. Here is a picture that I thought was pretty good. It is daddy. She was so excited to give it to him when he got home.
Elyse in her OSU garb.
In the high chair again.
Look at those big blue eyes.
I love the look of excitement on Elyse's face. It looks like Devin is going to sneeze on her...
...but he just gave her raspberries instead.
The girls playing with birthday balloons. Elyse makes this face all the time. It is usually accompanied by a squawk!
On the night before Katelyn's birthday, we had a family movie night. She was so excited. We all put on our pj's, brought pillows and blankets to the living room and watched Happy Feet Two. We had never seen the first movie, and now we might have to because both girls loved singing and dancing with those penguins! It was really a fun night. Katelyn was into the movie, and Elyse climbed on and off the couch via the pillows and blankets on the floor. She had a blast!
Opening presents. We made a crown for Katelyn out of Grandma and Grandpa Tanner's card. She thought that was pretty neat.
All Katelyn wanted to do for her birthday was to ride a bus. So we did. Katelyn and I took the Columbus public transportation from our side of town to COSI. It was about a 30 minute ride with stops every 3 minutes. Every time we stopped, she said "Why did we stop?" I'd explain that people needed to get on. After the people got on and we started to go again, she'd say, "Why are we going?" It was a fun and eventful 30 minutes!
And COSI was fun, as usual. It was nice to have Devin there with us. We usually go when he is at school, so it was fun to show him why we love COSI.
Katelyn got a lot of toys she could pretend with for her birthday. She got a doll house, a Strawberry Shortcake Store, Polly Pockets, princess dolls and a baby doll equipped with doctor supplies. She also got several books, coloring books and some really cute new clothes. She was excited the week before her birthday as packages and cards came from our family. Thanks everyone! She definitely got spoiled rotten.
Katelyn got to choose what kind of cake she wanted. She chose strawberry shortcake. I made angel food and pound cake that we smothered in strawberries and cream. I don't think she was expecting real strawberry shortcake. I think she wanted a cupcake with a cute Strawberry Shortcake face on it. Oh well. The cake was really good.
I can't believe she is three. I feels like just yesterday Devin and I were eating at Ruby Tuesday's in Pocatello having our last date before we went to the hospital to be induced. We were so excited and nervous all at once. Now we have a very sweet three year-old. She makes us smile everyday. Thanks for making us parents, baby girl. We have learned more from you than we will ever be able to teach you! We are so grateful that you are ours!

Hancock Family Pictures
We had family pictures taken with my family when we went home. They turned out awesome.
My sweet parents. Don't they look happy?
Any why wouldn't they be? Look at the five children they were blessed with.
I have such great siblings. They are some of my best friends. It was nice to have Dallin back so we could all be together.
I love this picture. Katelyn does too. She looked at it and said, "Ahhh, look at those cute girls!" (Sorry Dallin. That is the way it happened.) To clarified for her, pointing to Dall, I said, "Who's that?" She answered, "Dallin. Uhh....he is not a girl. But he is cute!"
The whole crew. 22 in all---7 originals, 4 sons in-law and 11 grand-kids.
Proud Grammy and Grandpa Dean.
Our little family.
It is amazing to think that almost 30 years ago, my parents family picture looked more like this. They had 2 small girls. And they were happy. Only Heavenly Father knew what was in store for their family. The same goes for Devin and I. We don't know what is to come, but we are happy and excited for the future. Hopefully some day, these sweet girls (and their future siblings) will be good friends. Hopefully they will find spouses that will love and cherish them. Hopefully we can teach them to love the Lord and serve Him. Then hopefully we will be so happy with our children and grandchildren surrounding us. Hopefully.... I guess we have a lifetime to live and find out!

Everyday Happenings
Here is a fort that we made with McKay and Anson Manning. One section was Katelyn's room and the other was McKay's. The pillows were there doors. It was really fun for them to push the pillows over and yell until I put them back up. I think the fort was more fun for them than me.
Cute little Elyse and Katelyn. I love my sweet girls.
My camera sits on the counter right by the kitchen table. I think that is why I take so many pictures of the girls eating. Here is breakfast one day last week.
Showing me that she is one.
And she is happy about it.
Lunch. Like I said, always taking pictures at the table.
Elyse hung out my my feet while I was practicing the hymns this week.
Here she is saying a few of her words.
I got out the foam curlers for Katelyn again. She was such a good girl while I put them in. She kept saying, "I am a big girl and so I get to have curlers."
Here she is playing and dancing to the keyboard preset. She is so much fun to watch.
And here is her hair the next morning. So beautiful.
It has been very nice to be home and get back to our usual routine. But Katelyn asks almost daily if she can ride on the airplane to Idaho! She had such a fun time visiting our family. She got to bring some of that fun back with us. Erica got her some Polly Pockets for her birthday. She has been playing with for hours each day and having so much fun pretending. We are really excited for her birthday this Saturday and the much anticipated bus ride!

Hancock Cabin and Yellowstone Park
While in Idaho, we went to my parent's cabin for a few nights. The first day, we just played pool and hung out at the cabin. The kids loved swinging in the hammock and playing games like "Jolly, Jolly Butcher Boy," "Red Light, Green Light" and "Mother, May I?" We ever got to eat Kota, food from Dallin's mission. It was bread with hamburger, sausage, hot dogs and french fries topped with our favorite sauce. It was tasty, but very filling and somewhat greasy! Thanks Dal for showing us the meal you ate for lunch everyday for four and a half months! I'm not sure how he didn't gain 7,000,0000 lbs;)
The hammock at the cabin. What a poser!
I LOVE this picture of Brynna, Katelyn and Seth. Katelyn thinks they are the bomb.
Seth looks so handsome in this one.
The next day, we went to Yellowstone Park. We got to ride with Cara and McKray. Katelyn rode with the Bradley's part way, and then jumped in the car with us while we stopped to see the buffalo. The ride was full of laughs and Yogi Bear references. We had a great time.
"Why can't I just fall to sleep like McKray?"
Such a good little car rider.
Buffalo in Yellowstone Park.
We went to Old Faithful and found a shopping cart in the parking lot. We didn't have stroller for Katelyn, so Grandpa Dean put it to good use.
At our pic-a-nic lunch in the park. (Get it? Yogi Bear?)
That night, Scott, Alli, Cara, Dallin and I went into West Yellowstone to see a show at the Playmill. Thanks mom and dad for watching the kids. We had such a fun time.
Porter Park
I love this one of Elyse drinking the water. That is what she does in the tub faucet too!
After splashing, we rode the Carosel. The gang was so excited to get on, and then they waited....
and waited...
and waited...
and waited...
and waited...
Nate thinking, "Why are we still waiting?"
I think you get the picture. There was plenty of photo taking time before the carousel started.
But when it did, they had a ton of fun!
My best motion shot of the day. Carter is such a handsome boy.
Chillin' in the shade after an awesome afternoon.
