February

February has been a very busy month. Here are some of the highlights.
I turned 25 on the 8th. I had an awesome day. Devin did so many nice things for me. He made me a birthday cake, dinner, breakfast and each hour he emailed me one reason why he is glad I was born. He is really wonderful.

Since we had just moved, I could not find the candles, so I got to blow out a match.

Devin was going to sing my birthday so slow, that the match never would have lasted. Is it weird that I sang myself happy birthday? I guess I am so used to encouraging Katelyn to sing, I don't think anyone can sing without my help!

Sweet little Elyse on my birthday. We hung out a lot that day and the few days that followed. Katelyn got sick with an ear infection and viral pneumonia. She stayed on the couch most of the week with a fever. She could barely walk straight. That Friday, she asked if I'd go to her room to play with her. I was so excited that she wanted to play, but when we got up there, she laid down in the middle of the floor. I tried to get her to play, and she said she was playing. I ask her what she was playing with. She said, "My blanket." I have never seen her so lethargic.

Devin gave her a blessing right before I took her in to the doctor. In the blessing, he blessed her to be willing and able to rest. After we went to the doctor and got her on an antibiotic and steroid, she came home and slept from 4:30pm to 7:00 the next morning. I woke her up at 9:00pm to see if she wanted something to eat. She said, "No mommy, I want to sleep tonight, and I'll eat some cereal in the morning." She definitely was willing to rest. Not long after she got better.
Katelyn in her Valentine's apron. I had to put mine on before she would try on her's.

Elyse has gotten so big this month. She eats almost everything that we do, plus baby food and her bottles. She is so good with her fingers and picking things up with her thumb and forefinger. We think she is so adorable. She started hand/knee crawling a little bit, but is so good at army crawling, that she sticks to that.

She has 6 teeth now (4 on top, 2 on bottom). She not only uses them to eat, but when I am holding her, she bites my arms---hard. It isn't malicious, more just attention getting.

Devin and I got to go to the MandiBall--a semi formal dance for the dental students. (Get it, mandible). We had a great time. The Sunday after the Mandiball, I got the flu. Then so did Devin. So in February, this little one was the only Tanner not sick.

Finally just some random pictures of the girls.

In all, February was great. We hope March is a healthier month in general. And to all of you, Happy February.
