One of Devin's classmates needed help cutting down a tree in his yard. Devin volunteered and was planning to go on Saturday morning. On Friday night, he voiced a little concern about it being safe for him to cut the tree down. We talked about how he would judge the situation, and if it was unsafe, he would come home (in one piece).
The next morning Devin showed up to this old, tall, dead tree that was right next the house. He judge the situation, and decided...
...to climb up 30 feet and cut each branch off with a chainsaw. They also tied ropes to the branches that were hanging over the house and his classmate tied the rope to his truck and pulled the branches so they wouldn't hit the house. It was so exciting that folks in the neighborhood came out and watch from their porch chairs.

I think next time, I might go to assess the safeness of the situation.

ReplyDeleteI always wonder how all the Tanner boys are still in one piece! I guess it's their amazing skills that help them survive unsafe situations!!!!
