Grammy and Grandpa Dean

Grammy and Grandpa Dean came to visit us after Elyse was born. My mom came in on the 21st of June. We were so happy to have her here. We had a lot of fun together. We made quilts, sock puppets, a fabric turtle, homemade noodles, a trifle, buckeyes and some amazing freezer pies. We also went to the outlets, the zoo and to my old job to show off Elyse. She was such a good help. She gave me confidence with two kids. She also let me know that sometimes with two kids, you can't do everything you have planned. One day, we were going to go to a park to have a picnic. On the way there, both kids started screaming. We went home and had a picnic! It was still fun.
Grammy really hit it off with the kiddos. The first day, she and Katelyn sat under a blanket and sang songs for 30 minutes. They sang "Pokey Bear," "Singing a Song is Fun to Do" and any other silly song you can think of. It was great! She also loved holding and feeding Elyse. She was so good at making Elyse relax during her fussy times.

Look at how relaxed. Grammy makes us all feel so happy!Grandpa Dean came into town the next Wednesday. We were all so excited to see him. Katelyn was especially fond of his chapstick. She would follow him around saying "lips!" After my dad got home, Katelyn asked to call Grandpa Dean. When he answered, she said, "Hi Grandpa Dean. Lips?" He really made an impression on her. We took my parents to visit Kirtland. Because of the increased size of our family, we had to take two cars and Caravan to Kirtland. My dad said that Devin drove like a stock car racer. I think my dad might just drive like an Idaho farmer. We had a wonderful time in Kirtland. Mom made Jello jigglers for Katelyn the day before she left. You can't see it very well, but Katelyn was pretty much dyed red. She loved them though. We will make them again someday.
We loved having my parents with us. We had tons of fun and look forward to seeing them again in September. We are so grateful for all they did for us while they were here and the great influence they are for our family. We love you!
